UK mobile operator O2 is set to bolster it's Windows Phone 8 line-up by adding the recently launched Huawei Ascend W1 in March. 02 already offers a wide range of Windows Phone 8 in the HTC Windows Phone 8X, 8S, Samsung ATIV S, Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 620, so the Ascend W1 will no doubt widen the choice for prospective Windows Phone users on the network.
"We want to bring Windows Phone 8 to as many of our customers as possible and we're really pleased to be working with Huawei to launch the Ascend W1. The Huawei Ascend W1 looks great in blue or pink and brings the power of personalisation to a whole new audience with its affordable price," said David Johnson, O2 UK general manager for devices.
The device features a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 1.2GHz dual-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics, a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with autofocus and flash, 4GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card and a 1950mAh battery. The device will be available in both electric blue (as pictured above) and electric pink, although there's no word on its pricing yet.
