Nokia Lumia 920 pre-order listing on Best Buy taken down

October 22, 2012 at 12:00 GMT | By Darlington Moyo

Best Buy opened up pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X yesterday. For unknown reasons, the electronics retailer has taken down the Nokia Lumia 920 listing from the pre-order page. However, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is still available for pre-order for $99 on contract and $599 for an unlocked device.

Why the Nokia Lumia 920's listing was taken down remains a mystery. Could it be that Best Buy jumped the gun? Is it because their pre-order stock was exhausted within hours because of overwhelming interest? Your guess is as good as mine.

Interestingly, people on different Windows Phone blogs mentioned that they had pre-ordered the Lumia 920 and received confirmation via email stating that their devices will be shipped on October 23. The other interesting issue is that the Lumia 920 was priced at $599 (unlocked), same as the 8 GB HTC 8X. It sounded too good to be true.

Have any of our readers pre-ordered the Lumia 920 from Best Buy?
