As announced a couple of weeks ago, Nokia has started rolling out an update for the Nokia Lumia 610. The firmware update 8779.12340 brings performance and camera improvements to the device.

Despite being the runt of the Nokia Lumia family, the Lumia 610 is playing a massive role in bridging sales while the Windows Phone OS is going through the transition. A recent report revealed that Windows Phone recent growth was mainly down to low-end devices such as the Nokia Lumia 610 and Lumia 710. We suppose Nokia realised this and decided that further support would be essential to keep the devices updated.

If you want to update your device; connect it to your computer using the USB cable your device came with, fire up Zune and you should see an update prompt.
