Chinese company TCL Communication Technologies which produces cheap smartphones under the Alcatel brand intends to release a budget device running Windows Phone 7.8, accorfing to Russian Windows Phone website Wp7forum.ru. The company's official twitter account has already published some images of the device (above).

Not much is mentioned regarding availability except that it should be out by the end of 2012. As seen on the image above, the device is available in black and orange.

Specifications:

  • 4 inch display, 800 x 480 pixels

  • Single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor

  • 5 Megapixel Carema and VGA font facing

  • 512 MB RAM

  • 4 GB Internal Storage

  • Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth

  • 1500 mAh Battery

  • 124.2 x 64.2 x 10.75 mm
We aren't exactly excited by the device but think if this device hits the right markets at the right price, Alcatel might shift a fair few. Not everyone can afford a Nokia Lumia 920 after all. See more images here.
