While most people have their sights firmly fixed on big hitters like the Nokia Lumia 920, Samsung ATIV S and HTC Windows Phone 8X, some whose pockets don't reach such depths will be happy to land themselves a cheap and cheerful device which won't cost them an arm and a leg. The ZTE Orbit, a device first showcased earlier this year at CES could be just that. The device has been re-branded as the Render but still features the same low-end specifications.

The entry-level device that features a 4-inch 800 x 480 display, a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5-Megapixel camera and Windows Phone 7.5 Tango. While the specs are at par with most first and second generation devices, the only sticking point could be the paltry 4GB of internal storage which could be problem for those who prefer having a lot of music, videos, podcasts, pictures, etc. on the go. However, if US Cellular is your wireless carrier of choice and you want to give Windows Phone a go, the ZTE Render is available for $79.99, after a $100 mail in rebate and with a contract.
