Nokia CEO Stephen Elop responds to Windows Phone related questions posed at TechEd 2012

Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, took time out to answer questions posed by people who attended Microsoft's TechEd 2012. The attendees asked a range of uninteresting and generic questions that obviously got a generic answer from the CEO, meaning there wasn't nothing new to learn from the exercise.
The only interesting bit is when Mr Elop is asked why current Windows Phone devices will not receive the Windows Phone 8 update. He states that all four current devices will receive Windows Phone 7.8, as well as a pattern of future updates from Nokia. These future updates will implement Internet sharing, flip-to-silence, and media content streaming. Does this mean other non-Nokia Windows Phone 7.x devices will only get the start screen?
