Though StatCounter is not considered as is the de facto standard in stats, it is still a great tool for watching how markets evolve and how mobile platforms are doing in general. I suppose it can be said it's a case of reading and believing what you want to. Well, that's the case with Windows Phone market share in Finland since the introduction of the Nokia Lumia 800 on the 1st of February this year. It is absolutely incredible that the Windows Phone market share now stands at 7.65% on the strength of one device alone within a short space of time. These are of course special circumstances as Finland is the home of Nokia. Now that the Lumia 610 and 900 are available in Finland, we should see Finland become the first market where Windows Phone finally crosses over the much desired 10% market share.
Here is how they stand in Finland:
- iOS 38.21%
- Android 31.18%
- SymbianOS 17.09%
- Windows Phone 7.65%
- Series 40 1.87%
- MeeGo 1.61%
- Maemo 5 0.54%
- Linux 0.53%
